How To Link Your National Identification Number (NIN) To Your Mobile Numbers. All Mtn, Airtel, 9moile and Etisalat users are to register their phone numbers! with the National Identification Number (NIN) so as to avoid NCC from blocking their SIM cards.
NCC has directed all network users to Link Your NIN To Your Mobile Number, with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) within two weeks interval. This was tweeted by Bashir Ahmad via his tweeter account.
“The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has given telecommunications operators (MTN, Glo, Airtel, 9Mobile and others) in the country two weeks to block all SIM cards that are not registered with the National Identity Numbers (NIN), the Commission has said in a statement,” he wrote in a tweet
However, the National Identification Number is a unique number of eleven digits! assigned to an individual after successful registration and enrollment! by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). You will be issued your National Identification Number Slip (NINS) which contains your NIN.

What To Do If You Have Lost Your NIN Slip
If you have lost your National Identification Number (NIN) slip and you want to get anther NIN slip, then kindly follow the below steps;
- Visit any nearest commercial bank close to you
- Pay a sum of N500 through the Remita
- Take your Remita teller to the NIMC Enrolment Center (ERC)
- Present the Remita teller to any staff and request for another NINS

To get your National Identification Number using the NIMC USSD Code very simple. However, using the USSD code is free without charge. All you need to do is; dial *364# with the number you registered with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). And your NIN will be sent to your phone inbox.

Dial *121# using the Airtel number you want to link your NIN. Then type 1 for NIN Capture and click send. Next is to enter your NIN and send. Airtel will send you a confirmation notice. You can also go to https://www.airtel.com.ng/nin Fill the online registration form carefully. And finally submit the form and your NIN will be linked to your Airtel number
