  • There are comprehensive maternity and CS (Caesarian) package in government hospitals, the majority of the mission, and some private hospitals.
  • In NHIF, all kinds of diseases are well treated, that is no disease is excluded.

NHIF Membership Requirements

Below are the membership requirements for Kenyan resident, Foreign resident, and Foreign Students;

Kenyan Residents Membership Requirements;

  • Copy of National I.D (including spouse if applicable)
  • Copy of Employer Appointment/Introduction Letter (excludes self-employed/voluntary contributors)
  • Colored passport photo (including spouse & dependents if applicable)
  • Original & copies of Birth Certificate(s) for dependants

Foreign Residents Membership Requirements;

  • Copies of passport, alien certificate, or work permit (including spouse if applicable)
  • Colored passport photo (including spouse & dependents if applicable)

Foreign Students Membership Requirements;

  • Copy of passport
  • Colored passport photo

NHIF Employers Requirments; The employer’s requirements are; Certificate of Registration and PIN Certificate.

How To Register NHIF Online For Employer

The NHIF Online Registration for employers is simple. To register for the National Health Insurance Fund online as an employer, below are the steps by steps method to register;

  • Open your browser and click on this link http://registeronline.nhif.or.ke/member/?home=1
  • Click on Employer boldly written on the screen
  • Enter your registration certificate No, your organization name
  • Enter other information carefully and correctly
  • Select the nearest NHIF branch office nearest to you
  • Attach your certificate of registration and PIN
  • Next is to click on the click to confirm
  • Mark the box to confirm that the information above is correct
  • Finally, click on Submit. You have successfully completed your registration.

Your application status and a notification message will be send to you by the system

How To Register NHIF Online For Self Employed

To register NHIF online for self-employed, kindly follow the step below;

  1. Visit http://registeronline.nhif.or.ke/member/
  2. Click on Self Employed on the screen
  3. Select your Identification type
  4. Enter your identification number
  5. Enter your First names, other names, and your date of birth. If you are married, you will have to upload your marriage certificate and other documents
  6. Fill other required information correctly
  7. Next is to click on the click to confirm
  8. Mark the box to confirm that the information above is correct
  9. Finally, click on Submit

Your application status and notification message will be send to you by the system.

How To Register A Spouse For NHIF

  • Click Spouse Registration on the Menu
  • Enter your National ID (Contributor ID)
  • Enter Your Spouse’s National ID.
  • Fill in all form fields.
  • Attach a Scanned Copy of Your Spouse’s Passport Photo.
  • If married, attach Your Marriage Certificate.
  • Click Save. If you filled in all fields, the form will be submitted.
  • The system will notify you of the Submission Status
  • The system will also send a notification SMS to the Contributor’s Mobile Number
